We are here to restore God as the foundation of education. Our journey began with a desire to move beyond the "educational grind" and into a life where faith, family, and nature are the heartbeat of every day. We believe that education is an atmosphere, a discipline, and a life- not a system of rewards and grades.

Our Story & Vision

We realized we were tired of the traditional education model and felt called to a deeper way of learning, and knew something had to change. We decided to build a community where faith, family, and nature come first.

sound familiar?

Education is about more than just checking boxes or memorizing facts; it is a sacred invitation to discover God’s world. We believe that when children are given the time to truly see- whether through a beautiful book or a quiet moment in nature- their natural curiosity flourishes.

Our cooperative is a place where the noise of academic busywork is replaced by a peaceful rhythm. Here, we prioritize living ideas over dry textbooks and open skies over fluorescent lights. We aren't just teaching subjects; we are nurturing persons.

Rooted in Faith & Wonder

Nature as Our Classroom We trade artificial environments for the inspiration of the open air. Nature is a primary teacher at Foundations, with weekly explorations designed to kindle curiosity and ground our students in the beauty of the natural world.

The Feast of Living Ideas We move beyond dry textbooks to "living books"—rich literature that captures the imagination and makes history, science, and faith come alive.

Flexible & Accessible Our collaborative model is designed to support, not replace, the sanctuary of your home. We provide the structure of an academy while protecting the freedom and flexibility your family needs to flourish.

A Foundation Built for Your Family

We are committed to fostering children’s natural curiosity by providing them with immersive, hands-on learning experiences that promote exploration, investigation, and inquiry about the world. Our program includes activities ranging from planting and harvesting crops to caring for animals, to a builder's workshop, all designed to instill values of hard work, responsibility, and entrepreneurship in a safe and supportive environment. Confining children’s education within traditional classroom walls can be counterproductive during their formative years. Our philosophy emphasizes tapping into their innate inquisitiveness through outdoor learning activities. We believe that such an approach not only enhances their educational journey but also allows their natural curiosity to flourish beyond conventional settings.

Hands-on Learning

We maintain the conviction that limiting children’s educational experiences within the confines of a traditional classroom is detrimental. Our cooperative emphasizes outdoor learning activities where youthful curiosity flourishes best. By incorporating outdoor experiences, we aim to provide children with opportunities to connect with nature and develop a deeper appreciation for the world around them.

Outdoor Learning

Our program emphasizes a robust foundation in reading, writing, and mathematics, ensuring that students acquire essential skills to facilitate their academic progress. Complementing our academic focus is an equally strong commitment to social-emotional learning. We understand the importance of equipping children with competencies such as empathy, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. These skills are crucial for success not only academically but also in personal development. Therefore, our students engage in various activities and lessons designed to nurture these attributes, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued and respected. In essence, our cooperative offerings are meticulously crafted to holistically support each child—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. We strive to provide a comprehensive enrichment experience that prepares children for lifelong learning and achievement.

Academic Excellence

Choosing the right learning environment shouldn't be a financial burden. We are a PEP-reimbursable program, which means you can use your Step Up for Students (FES-UA or PEP) scholarship to cover co-op costs for the 2026 school year.
